Tree By-Law
Amendment
The Forestry Staff for the City of Mississauga
presented their corporate report regarding the proposed
amendments to the Tree Permit By-law at the February
29th, 2012 meeting of the General Committee.
Staff have now received Council approval (March 7, 2012)
to hold public information centres on the proposed
amendments. Following this public consultation process,
a report will go back to General Committee with the
recommended amendments.
The CRA is working with Miranet on this City-wide
initiative. For more details, copies of the

Yard Waste Collection
begins: April 2, 2012
Yard waste collection starts the week of April 2 and ends the
week of Nov. 26, 2012.
Yard waste is collected weekly on your scheduled waste
collection day during the months of April, May, June, October
and November.
During the months of July, August and September, yard
waste is collected every other week, beginning July 3 and ending
September 27, 2012. Weekly yard waste collection resumes the
week of October 1, 2012.
Acceptable yard waste items include:
- Brush
- Garden trimmings

Grass clippings
- Halloween pumpkins, hay bales and corn stalks
- Hedge and tree trimmings/branches
- House and garden plants
- Lawn edging (earth removed)
- Leaves
- Shredded paper in paper yard waste bags
